Antique Jacquard Coverlet
This is a beautiful multi-color wool coverlet consisting of green, blue and red, with a cream background. It features deer in each corner and decorative designs consisting of birds, what appears to be the capitol building, oak leaves, acorns and a large floral and star motif in the center. Unfortunately, this coverlet is not signed or dated, but based on similar examples, it is likely to be late 1800’s-early 1900’s.
The overall condition is good considering its age. As pictured, there are a few areas that are thinning, with small holes and fraying, as well as some small stains and discoloration. Overall, this is still very bright and colorful and could be used or simply displayed.
